Evolution Of The Four Horsemen

Evolution Of The Four Horsemen

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Just some strong thoughts I have

"

Unleashed through the gates of a scroll

The product of man’s destructive force

Continuing their ride from decade to decade

Gaining momentum from all the blood sweat and tears

Of those who have no choice but to serve you.

The first riding in on his white horse

I’m only guessing it’s to look like the hero

All the while you use your bow and arrow to conquer

Everything your evil heart desires

And wearing that crown like you’re the King

Of knowing what best for the world.

Out of the shadows comes the second

On a horse of red to hide the blood you shed

With that mighty sword held so high

Letting us think war is the only way

But deep inside your twisted mind

It’s a game of revenge with money on the side.

Now here comes the one riding his black horse

With that scale always tipped one way

Weighted down with money, power and fame

Not giving justice a chance to balance

So I guess the little guy now pays for your crime

Since he can’t afford anything else.

We can’t forget the one who brings up the rear

Riding on a horse so pale since death is near

As a great nation built on truth, justice and freedom

Slowly loses its heartbeat and gasps for air

With the last chance being life support

Until the power goes ___________OUT.

I guess so much for the separation of church and state

As you can plainly see that The Four Horseman

That started from biblical times has evolved

Into a Government thing.

Oh yes...so many come under the guise of helping us through hard times and yet they are actually there to do harm. It's very sad. I have gone through this as you know and it's the most painful thing to deal with I think. When there is a wolf in sheep's clothing among us we often do not see the signs or inconsistencies until it is too late.

This is very well written. NO surprise there though. 100 daisies...

I like the use of the four horsemen .. i like the way you have said in your words, poem how evil and greedy humankind has become .. as for the government thing.. that's something i won't get in to as i despise the government.. well done, Dale.. you keep getting better with each poem i read of yours.

Oh...this is very cool...I like how you used some of the symbols from the Bible to show what the government has done in the name of "religion." Great stuff, my friend :)

This piece struck a nerve with me. If you would like to know why let me know.

I liked the way you used the four horsemen to represent the government. I think this was very creative and very close to a twisted thought that would have came out of my head so you know I loved it. You words have strength and heart here my friend.

Great Job!!!!!

Ah, the delightful unification of politics and philosophy.

No matter how much science and technology advance, human nature never changes. Thus the smilies and metaphors and moral plays in those ancient religious texts are as relevant today as ever. We just have to be carefully creative in the parallels we draw, something you do well.

WHAT?... WHAT?

Ohhh, Dale, where did this come from? I know you're not a bible man so very I'm shocked to see this. Impressive! The first rider- white horse- is Jesus. The true hero and yes, he knows whats best for the world. Why wouldn't he, his Father is the creator.
But man, after the white horse you really had me. Your views on government and end times are intriguing. High-5, Dale!!!!! This is awesome!!

A favorite!

You did a great job combining this here to take something, two separate ideas, and weave them together in such a way that we see the parallels perfectly. :) Great job on this Dale!
