It has a certain complexity to it. Many themes..internal struggle, fight or flight, freeedom/inprisonment, dark/light, infinity/mortality! Stand on the razor's edge. "Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable/And lightness has a call that's hard to hear." Good stuff, Cowboy!
And yet, freedom sings within too, beckoning us on, the blade can wait, along with the grave, too many battles to be won ;) xo

OMG, spell check where are you. Don't let Kimmer see that.
this is unbelievably true... each verse seems to deal with big unaswerables.. but there is that voice which trails off to seek freedom in the unknown, leave behind the darkness.. where freedom rings, that's a great line, actually made my ears ring.. you have built great anticipation in this piece, stunning.

Thank you so much for that stunning review. I always appreciate your views.
Ooh, I love this one, although I have to admit I was singing the Divinyls in my head when I saw your title ;-) This is as close to perfection as it gets, Dale. This is a superior write, my friend. Thank you so much for dusting this one off for us.

i like the format of this...it is like standing on the edge of a flight of stairs, deciding whether to take the step...that step could be moving forward or it could be stepping off the top stair and falling into the abyss..
moving forward or ending it.
so many of us have stood at that edge before...it's scary there, and pivotal as to what we decide to do.
Man is sometimes tempted to break the glass wall when every thing seems to go out of control and against him.
The following lines brought to mind an image of Lucifer (Satan) conspiring with death against humanity...
"Fantasies of riding the wings of immortality
Have been clipped by an angel’s jealousy" - this brought on a deeper theological meaning for me.
