Why Can't I?

Why Can't I?

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Why can’t I say the words

when I tell you everything else

without any problems at all?

Discussing world problems

my mistakes and favorite things,

even tell jokes with the  greatest ease.

So why can’t I say

the most important thing

that my heart bleed.

Why can’t I express what I feel

when my emotions are on the surface

on the verge of boiling over?

My friends know the value

of there love and support

and my family know their place in my world.

So why can’t I express

what my soul cry out

when no one is around.

So why do I hide what I need to let out?

Am I afraid of you won’t feel the same

or scared you’ll feel the same way too?

i like it......
and i dont think it is at all redundant....
i think your point is being taken in by repeating what you feel..
funny, how if your poem is ringing true for you, how us writers somtimes can not "tell"
someone face to face what we write masterpieces about.....

nice write....
be well......

we often let our fears stand in the way of great love...and the fear of being loved back? I have learned that sometimes that fear is caused by a lack of self-worth...feeling as though we don't deserve to be loved back and the person we love might find us unworthy in time.

Hmmm...an interesting question, Dale. I think we all are a bit afraid, particularly at affairs of the heart. The thought of being rejected is sometimes greater than anything else. You should most definitely forgo your worries and tell them anyway...Sweet write :)

I think we surpress things because we never want to hear the negative side of what our heart wants to shout out. We would like people to agree with us or have these same feelings and so should they not, we become disappointed, we are afraid of the risk, of losing something. this is a machine that we are on, we have friends and aquaintences here, most we will never meet, so that is why this is a good forum to let it all hang out, so I say go for it and don't think of any risk or consequences, there will be none. Happy Easter

I think everyone has been here at some point in their lives. The fear of giving voice to your heart's desires is a common one. People deal with this in different ways and it evokes many emotions. I think you do a wonderful job of capturing the frustration, the pain and the regret that is felt by the urge to say what you cannot. The voice here is astounding. I only hope that when this problem arises, people find their voice and find a way to express what they feel. Otherwise, they might face a lifetime of regrets. A lifetime is a long time to feel regret.

Oh yes the fear of express your heart and the fear it will not be returned or it will and it will not be the way you hoped and dreamed it to be. I think everyone person has felt this before. as we all fear the unknown to some degree and to often the fear cripples us to the point we can not do anything we wish to. I say we only have one life live it to its fullest and never look back with regrets

Well Done!!!!!!!
