Why Can't I?

Why Can't I?

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Why can’t I say the words

when I tell you everything else

without any problems at all?

Discussing world problems

my mistakes and favorite things,

even tell jokes with the  greatest ease.

So why can’t I say

the most important thing

that my heart bleed.

Why can’t I express what I feel

when my emotions are on the surface

on the verge of boiling over?

My friends know the value

of there love and support

and my family know their place in my world.

So why can’t I express

what my soul cry out

when no one is around.

So why do I hide what I need to let out?

Am I afraid of you won’t feel the same

or scared you’ll feel the same way too?

i like it......
and i dont think it is at all redundant....
i think your point is being taken in by repeating what you feel..
funny, how if your poem is ringing true for you, how us writers somtimes can not "tell"
someone face to face what we write masterpieces about.....

nice write....
be well......

'Why Can't I?'
Rock and Roll Cowboy,
This was a good question and answer format to take in the vulnerability of life. That is that inner place which a soul is protective of itself. It takes a lot to reveal ourselves from a deep place of need. I really like your wording being in relational meeting of yourself and a person you wish could be understanding of who you are. I get this and have been there. Beautiful and honest.
Bless you much.

this is how I felt with my first husband- unable to let out the words.

but after awhile it was to late and my love for him disappeared.
so now with my new love I say it all the time.... as if it was my last time.

Many find it hard to show there emotions, so this was a very well written poem, Dale.
It's funny how hard it is for some to say those three little words too.

we find ourselves a place apart
behind light words that tease and flout
but, oh, the agitated heart
til someone find us really out (Frost)

I think this is a question we are all faced with.

the last two lines really sum up personal feelings for so many of us. I wonder how we can live as lost souls for so long and never overcome the fear of rejection?

Omg this was great. Beautifully written and amazingly expressed.
So many of us have the same problem, including me..... I find it so hard to express my true feelings specially to those whom I care for the most.
Maybe one day we could all learn just to forget our fears and say what's really inside before it is too late

Really loved this

So why can't I express
what my soul cry out
when no one is around.

This part jumps out at me from the page. It's like the token question that every other line revolves around.
I don't know why....
Very well written.....

Discussing world problems. A meaningful phrase.

Its the heart that matters. Just let it out.

What an apparent contradiction in the fear and the desire to conceal and yet so true.So genuine!
