Time

just some thoughts in my head

                                                                                                

They say time heals all wounds

yet day after day people

are tormented by past mistakes.

the effects causing lingering reactions

bringing self destruction

and often bitter loneliness.

 

They say time is of the essence

but when all we do is run around

taking care of life’s problems

we forget what’s important

so often losing them and in turn

ourselves in the process.

 

They say time is on our side

and somehow I can’t agree

for all time does is take

those we love away from us

and break us down little by little

as our bodies age.

 

Then when I hear time is fleeting

I can’t believe my ears

because the only thing I can see

is time is the only thing that last forever

so just enjoy the here and now

and let time do its thing.

it takes one day at a time for the healing to happen - we need to take time for ourselves in the busy hub-bub of society...

Isn't it the truth though?
Time I think blurs the pain, dulls it, but we never truly forget though do we?
There's always a scar somewhere. Something to remind us.

I think time is meant to allow us the "time" to heal. The "time" to reflect. The "time" to mend.

I guess every step of the way we make decisions that change our lives. Time ticks on. Every day something different happens. Time ticks on. Your thoughts on this subject are very apt and I guess as long as we keep learning and enjoying life then time can tick on and we won't care.

I hope many hopeless, desperate an lonely people will read this. It is a pure and true medicine. It should be tacked to the wall in every medical practice. I'm sure in some cases your words could do more good than pills will ever be able to.

This is one of the times I like thoughts-only as a poem. I guess it's because I'm going through my own problems, my own long-lost love recoveries years later, the grandparent I've always had being eaten away by a rare cancer with no effective treatments...time really is not the cure to some things.
