Faith In Fate

Faith In Fate

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Triple Dog dare is nothing more

Than words of fate,

Accepted or declined.

For a mind provoked

Is the choice of the man.

Take it or leave it

Is a seed already planted,

How it grows is found

On the wings of nature in flight.

The way the wind blows

Is far too easy to follow,

That is the direction some will fly.

If you choose to fly off course

The winds of change

Will be at your command.

Strike while the lightening is hot,

Move to the rhythm of the thunder

Or let the rain make a clean slate.

For the choices of Mother Nature is never wrong

When you learn how to weather your storm.

I love the title. I’m a believer in those coined phrases. But, ( here is another one) destiny is what we make) (reap what we sow), (take your medicine). All saying we’ve heard before, and tend to follow. I liked the debate it allows.

Seems to be a criticism of long established cliches. The writer apparently views them as copouts. A list of more productive sayings is offered in the last verse. Well done, except for word 7 in the next to last line.
