Magic On Christmas Tree Lane

Magic On Christmas Tree Lane

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Twinkling lights hug the house,

Colored lights accent the tree,

Santa and his elves sit on the porch

While a manger is nestled on the lawn.

The whole neighborhood is filled with variations

Of the first house on the block.

There are inflated snowmen, plastic reindeer,

Even the Grinch makes an appearance now and then.

Some yards are filled with themes

Like Minions trying to be good

Or Disney characters in the Christmas mood.

Even Star Wars gets in on the action

With Vader in a Santa hat.

Driving down the street enjoying the decorated homes

May seem ridiculous to the Scrooges of the world

But for me it is the way to keep the kid alive inside,

Enjoying this fun spectacle for a holiday

That celebrates Jesus Christ.

I agree. I like the lights of Christmas. My three grand-boys love to see them. Make the season come alive. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

dear Dale... your poem is full of holiday moods. My family saw the new Star Wars Movie on Christmas Day.
I stayed at home close to the hearth and read poetry, nibbling on fruit and cheddar cheese with candles burning and twinkling lights. Merry Christmas

Gee
I’m with you, minus the religious bit. I love the fact so many take the time to tinsel up their houses for the benefit of others. Takes time and patience and many a shilling into the electricity meter.

It certainly takes a lot of patience... that is why I just look and never do my outside.
Thank you for reminding me what it's like to live in town, as my 8 years in the wilderness has nearly erased from memory how it used to be, walking my dogs around the neighborhoods at night, seeing what displays each town-dweller dreamed up! *smile* Distinct, vivid details make this particularly sensory! Here's wishing you & your loved ones a blessed & joyful Christmas! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you Margie... God bless you and Merry Christmas.
You've captured a time-honored treasure. Funny all the different displays we pick up on, all the observations and variations, as you say. Fun and childlike and it brings a warmth to all who see. Nice Dale!

Thank you sweetie, So glad you liked it.
I love how people light up and decorate the outside of their homes. This time of the year is very special, and the Scrooges of the world will just have to put up with it.

It's incredibly popular on this side of the pond as well and driving past all the beautifully adorned houses never fails to bring joy.

Merry Christmas and God bless to you and yours.

Beccy.
