Even Gypsies Love Family

Since the beginning of time

Gypsies have roamed this planet

With no order to fence them in.

They are not always easy to spot

Until you look deep into their eyes.

Just because some hearts beat rouge

Doesn’t mean they are not made of gold.

Everyone has kinfolk,

And for people like us

Loved ones are a kite string,

Always holding on without holding us down.

Though we believe in

Following where the wind calls us

We will always keep our roots

In a soft spot on the solid ground

That our family has saved for us.

Wonderful thoughts Dale! We may be "far apart" from one another, but it is up to us to keep family, including our family friend,s in our heart! That way we may roam, but still be connected through the love we share.

This is a thought-provoking message about families that are loosely-knit & far-flung. I love the line about kite-strings holding on but not holding us down. Altho I don't relate to this message in terms of family, I do feel it's also applicable to friends that become like family for those of us with toxic families. I can only dream of such understanding about the need to be free . . . most people need more to cling to.
