Feel These Tattoo Nevermore

Feel These Tattoo Nevermore

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Needles puncture the skin,

Changing the color of my flesh

But my blood will always run red.

The ink goes deep enough

To last till I become dust in the dirt

So this soul can part from Earth.

I get these voluntary scars to show

That my life is my art

And a permanent part of my heart.

The pain is short but these stories live on,

For I will feel these tattoos nevermore

But they will forever leave my mark.

Hello The Rock,

This is such an amazing way to look at getting a tattoo! I particularly like the line, "And a permanent part of my heart." I think anyone who has ink permanently attached to their flesh fully embraces it as art. Nicely done and thank you for sharing!

Kind regards,

Schatzi

Life is art wonderful imagery and tattoo is like wearing your heart on your sleeve or in this case a body part.

That is a great way to put it. Thank you.
I do have one tattoo which is meaningful in a way. It's pretty. But it's meaningful.
Sometimes from a short-lived pain comes something beautiful.

Very well said my friend.
Interesting that the pain should be fleeting but the mark everlasting. A nice solid, real, poem.
ps -- think you meant tattoos in the title.

I love your tat! There is a story behind every tattoo and it is a work of art. I have a tribal tattoo around my ankle. Wonderfully written, Dale ...
