There have been dozens of poetic tributes to Prince lately, but this is one of my favorites. You've woven in the song lyrics in a way that feels natural to the story you're telling here. I feel you've really touched on what is most memorable about Prince, beyond his music, which is woven into the popular culture of our young adult lives. Great job!

Thank you so much... glad you liked how I slide his lyrics in as a tribute.
This poem is a PERFECT description of Prince. His death was very tragic and even though I know about him because of my family and the news, I think he was an amazing artist who will be much missed.
So many expressions of loss for this man, who touched people worldwide by simply being who he was...a contemplative powerhouse of rhythm, fashion, passion and spirit. It's beyond sad that he's gone, but grateful for the treasure-trove of music he left, published to date, and "un" (in that vault). Much brilliance to celebrate. Beautiful words you wrote, and they look cool in purple!
The beauty of your words draws me to the reverence and love you have for this great musician and the depth of your sorrow at his passing. My heartfelt condolences to you and all the others who loved and appreciated PRINCE.

I know the feeling...even you and your words are an integral part of my life.
Prince broke a mold, was sensual, feisty, and wasn't afraid to do things his way, which included how his music was handled.. I adored him as an entertainer, and admired his ability to keep his personal life private, and giving without a spot light. Great tribute !

Thank you Jacob... it is a shame many didn't see that side of him.
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
