A Song Of Faith

A Song Of Faith

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Blackbird sing to me

A song of sixpence

That gives heaven

A fighting chance

In protecting Holy Matrimony.

Blackbird belt out a tune

That tells of dandelions,

Daisies and roses

Blooming in the garden

Without a care that they

Come from different seeds.

Blackbird please serenade

The robins and the jays

To show mankind

That the term “birdbrain”

Is a hope, not an insult.

Blackbird just sing away

Before my faith decides

To fly away.

I liked the poem.
"Blackbird just sing away

Do blackbirds sing? I never notice. More of a prey bird than gentle. I liked the energy and drive of the poem. A nice ending to a outstanding poem.

'Daisies and roses
Blooming in the garden
Without a care that they
Come from different seeds.'

A lesson for all of mankind is perfectly captured in these four lines.

One day perhaps... Beccy.

Thank you so much.
I absolutely LOVE this poem, Dale - the second stanza stands out - the weeds and flowers not caring that they come from different seeds - awesome! Your words give me faith that humankind still has potential... (did I mention that I love this one?) :)

my pleasure
so interesting...trying to have faith in a relationship....faith in the idea of marriage and forever...i think "birdbrain" is a misconception when used as an insult...same as saying that someone eats like a bird, meaning that person hardly eats anything...birds eat twice their weight...

"blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly---all your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arrive." (Beatles)
