The Color Of The Metaphors In My World

The Color Of The Metaphors In My World

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I like to walk a fine line

Straight as the lost form

Of cursive writing.

Some can understand my handwriting,

Others find it to be chicken scratch.

I try to be the master

Of beating around the bush,

But there are those that think

I am just destroying the landscape,

While other think I am

Adding character to the scenery.

Perceptions are an element of life

And a poet writes for their seasons,

Whether my weather is

Sunshine or rain,

Hot and humid or minus zero…

I hope anyone that reads me

Is their own meteorologist

And not using machines

To predict my feelings.

For much like my metaphors in these verses

There is more to me

Than the color of the sky in my creative world.

Some will like your work. Others will not Some will understand it. Others will not. Some will think they understand and totally misinterpret what you said. That's why poets write for themselves.
