Boney branches sway

In the wicked wind

Fracturing the homegrown skull

Nurtured in blood rich soil.

 

It has cast a shadow of doubt

For many many moons,

By hiding the sun

In the blink of a black cat’s eye.

 

Every break in the wooden cranium

Casts one more sliver of light from heaven,

Proving that evil kills itself.

 

Holy genocide Jesus,

Your Father works His miracles

In mysterious ways.

There is still sin in the world even
though Christ died on the wood cross on Calvary
for our sins.


If there was no sin non of the bad things
would be happening.

This sounds like to me like a war
a blood war like when they had the trails
of tears and the wars against north and south
many swimming in innocent blood baths sadly
and it makes me think of the death of our Beautiful Saviour.

The first verse is amazing and creates deep impression and image about the landscape...The sounds give me feeling, and it`s actually a feeling landscape. So rich imagery and touchable word choice. I like the expression "nurtured in blood rich soil"...The developing sense of this piece make me think of Yin and Yang, (if its true or not), the evil never is just itself "alone" but it`s mixed with whiteness and light. It`s transforming from one side to another. The symbol of the gone life "skull" and wood- the dead tree are very good together. I agree that evil kills itself, and this is very strong thought...*just I didnt understand about "genocide Jesus".

In the Christian teaching, evil/sin killed itself when it killed Jesus in the apex of mercy, but then human nature is immutable and I think it is the root cause of all evil from the very dawn of man until now.

Evil has always been as much a part of life as the good. It like a law of dichotomy. It's unfortunate but human conditions and thoughts of one individual to the next are not equal. Great simile through this poem.
