![]() Get My Demons DrunkA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)![]() I have been asked to write lyrics for a few songs a friend wrote… these are the first ones… when they got it recorded may I can find a way to post it here.![]() Verse 1
Looking through the bottom of
a glass Is like staring into the mirror of my past, The clarity through a rum
colored window Brings focus to my wrinkles
from living fast, Losing the lady that should
have been my lifeline To endless good times not built
to last.
Chorus
I’m gonna get my demons drunk Till the devil has hell to
pay For haunting my memories With mistakes he made my
play.
Verse 2
Gone like the promises I
tried to make So far away to a place humans
never see, Forever regretting that she
fell from grace Caring enough to try and keep
up with me, Never again to feel the
warmth of her soul Heaven’s for angels and
purgatory is where I’ll be.
Chorus
I’m gonna get my demons drunk Till the devil has hell to
pay For haunting my memories With mistakes he made my
play.
Bridge
100 proof intentions Are a one way ticket To eternal damnation, But I have already Damned myself For digging her Gin soaked grave.
Chorus
I’m gonna get my demons drunk Till the devil pays his dues For making me the prison That will forever enslave
her.
Bridge 2
Sorry my angel, So sorry, For being the devil That tarnished Your halo.
