Ms. Amusezing And Miss Musery

Ms. Amusezing And Miss Musery

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

She tells me

What I want to hear

So my pen and paper

Can bond over

What I feel.

I say, “Thank you”

With a sincere tone.

She just grins

And goes back

To her interpretive dancing.

She later lies

Her head on my chest

And sighs

When my heart skips a beat.

I whisper,

“What it is?”

She simply replies

By looking in my eyes

With longing and confusion

In hers.

I carve that moment

In my soul

For inspiration

When the bloodbank

Dries out.

She disappears

When the witching hour strikes,

Running into the night

Leaving me to chase shadows

That don’t exist

But surreal enough

To chill me to the bone.

She cries out

Cutting the darkness

With no guilt;

Close enough

To make me worry

Yet far enough

That I cannot

Comfort her.

Is she torturing her spirit

Or mine?

Is she telling me

I can’t save everyone?

Or I can’t save myself?

So I sleep on it

Without the help of dreams.

When morning comes

I find her lying at my side

As if nothing ever happened.

When I ask her

About it

She simply smiles

While telling me

What I want to hear

Without explaining her intentions.

So I go about my writing

While she gets lost in her dancing.

It is good to read your amazing poetry.
"She disappears
When the witching hour strikes,
Running into the night
Leaving me to chase shadows
That don’t exist
But surreal enough
To chill me to the bone."
The above lines could be a poem alone. The witching hours are shadows and surreal places we lose and can find again. I like the complete poem. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Thank you so much Fran.
Life is amazing when fantasy and reality entwine together to create the magic. More so when we wake up and find we can reach out and still touch it. This is such a beautiful and inspiring write Dale. Thanks for the beautiful read.

Well she needs to be wild to put up with crazy old me, haha… thanks so much :)
Your muse seems to be a wild spirit at night...
yet, she is there in the stillness of the morning...
It's beautifully haunting!..creatively crafted, Dale.

Yes we are, it is why we fall in love with writing.
Your words within the geometry of this poem drive home the fact that the light of the muse is all the more influential when contrasted against brief pauses filled with emptiness and darkness. The Dark Abyss is the contrasting pause between the stars.

Oh I like you way of thinking in anaylizing my poem.
A very spirited muse you have there cowboy Dale but don't we all. They lead us on a merry chase with our pen and paper and sometimes they desert us to fly to parts unknown.Truly excellent poetry my friend :)

The muse is a complex mystery indeed, that is what makes her so inspirational.

True that my dear Cowboy Dale :)
Some part of this piece reminded me of a friend's complaint that most men cannot really read what's inside the minds of women/girls so if a woman wants something she must tell him about it. I may not really decipher the real intention of this piece but what i get from this is that when we are in a relationship we must respect the personal space of the other.

We all have our outlet and our muses....she in her dancing and you in your poetry and writing. We all need to escape to our own world for a little while and it's perfectly healthy and normal to want to follow her, yet know she needs her space. Beautiful write, RnR Cowboy!
