Before And After(The Rain)

Before And After(The Rain)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Before the rain

I could clearly see

Through the pain;

Water spots

Of mistrust…

Cracks from neglect…

Dirty footprints

Of lies…

Cloudy apologize

Creating confused emotions…

After the rain

I clearly see

That I wasn’t

Clearly seeing before

The storm,

Cause I was being

Scared of flooding out;

The water spots

Were bits of truth

Needing to be

Cleaned off…

Those cracks

Were inviting me

To see what lies

Beneath the surface…

Dirty footprints

Can come clean

When washed out…

The clouds were

A temporary reminder

To permanently appreciate

The bright skies

In my life…

I can clearly see now

That clarity cannot be seen

Until the dark

Compliments the light.

Beautiful! I love how you have penned this one, Dale! The comparison of a storm coming through is fantastic. That last verse really hit it home! Enjoyed this one!! (:
