Not So Simply Her…

Not So Simply Her…

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Her body might be

The sweetest temptation,

Yet her heart is like

A candy coated dream.

Her curves are so sexy

Arousal comes at the speed of light,

It still doesn’t compare to how fast

Her mind gets mine intellectually racing.

Her convictions

are an atmosphere

That is easy to breathe in.

Those who only judge

The cover

Are missing out on the heart-warning,

Intelligent story inside.

I on the other hand,

Cannot wait

To read the next page,

Getting lost in those words

That continue to challenge

My sentiments and views.

Everytime we talk

I am blessed

Like a re-birth.

There is nothing simple

About her

And I wouldn’t have it

Any other way

For she is easy

On the eyes to my soul.

Thank you Fran, yes a complete admiration.
This is really nice, Dale! I like "Her curves are so sexy/Arousal comes at the speed of light,/It still doesn’t compare to how fast/Her mind gets mine intellectually racing." That's a brilliant stanza.

Anyway, you might want to add commas on this the line "I on the other hand" so that it will be "I, on the other hand,".

I am thinking the speaker is in love with someone here on this site. I might be wrong. ;)

Thank you very much.
I have met so many men and women like this here on the WC. We see the minds of our fellow writers more easily than the people in their real life situations because we do not have the distraction of everyday life and the physical world to get in the way of see into their hearts...
There is a simplicity to it all that is very beautiful in conveying a complexity beyond the typical interactions in life.
I feel much like this with my friends here.
Thank you for sharing this thought Dale. You have penned this concept very well.

I absolutely love poems about a cherished woman, the views of a woman that are rendered so sweetly, impressions of who they are to you, how they have "made you want to be a better person" , how they shape that admiration, I've always been reaallly bad at writing love songs, but this could be a song :) It's a beauty!

---How romantic those words are, Mr. Cowboy. Those words echo in the four corners of this room. You are admiring someone so beautiful and intelligent in your eyes. I'm happy to see someone like the speaker of this poem.

However, in reality, a loving heart always see beautiful things. That's why when a person is in love, he is inspired every moment he/she sees or talks with the one being loved.

So splendid. Keep it up!

Only a very small percentage of the most caring, courageous and self-less feel the need to do this. To be appreciated and valued for who you are inside irrespective of how you look from outside is becoming an increasingly rare thing nowadays.

It sure is, it is a real turn on when the woman has depth and can challenge your mind.
I'm in love with this poem, Cowboy! It's honest and passionate and hopeful. Sometimes, love just is. No complications or hang ups. Great job :)
