Setting Fire Without A FlameA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
Sentimental
thoughts Slither
through your mind Betraying
past emotions With
venomous bites Turning
mundane memories Into
superficial nightmares. Perception
begins to deceive When
the head shrink l Leaves
little room For
original thoughts To
breathe.
In
the real world Reality
bites till You
begin to devour Your
own dreams. Why
feast upon other’s self esteem When
you choke on your own?
Through
the darkness A
Phoenix can become Your
rebirth If
you acquire the ability To
have blind faith in mankind, Otherwise
the light At
the end of the tunnel Will
be your consciousness Set
aflame without the devil’s design. © 2014 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
