The Moon, The Sun And The Question Of Deception

The Moon, The Sun And The Question Of Deception

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Oh wicked moon

Smiling down on me

With the intent to deceive.

Using your pale rays

To highlight my fears

Till they get mistaken

For being my dreams in the dark.

Having a stone cold poker face

You hold all the cards

When it comes to my life

In the dead of night.

But when I think about it now,

Tis the sun that gives you the power

To play these tricks of light;

Which leaves me to ponder the question…

Is there really a difference

Between day and night?

Wow … it is a day for philosophy. I suppose there is a difference because we can discern that there is one. Loved this write.

Thank you very much, yes I get philosophical now and then and then again, LOL
The difference? The moon can only deceive at the dark (at night). During our darkest days, there would be people who would come like willing to help us, but we really don't know their intentions...

Thank you for sharing this thought-provoking piece. I have found another page with philosophical pieces of writing. Keep it up! =)

You've got the musings of a sage. :)

Thank you so much, appreciate your kind words.
The moon could not exist without the sun of course...

And day and night could not exist without each other...

Very true and wise my talented friend.
Awl...this is over the top, Dale. With this poem, I hear the humanly task of questioning faith. Excellent write!

Wow glad to hear that, thank you
She's so powerful isn't she? what a great write my friend... of the moon here a fantastic poem. Love the reflection, switch, of the Sun there, for it's so right, he only can give her her reflection... and so does she to him. :) Romantic, great, and full of nature, the poems Elisa adores!! hah!

Great work my friend.

The pleasure is mine :)
day or night, if we look into the lake, the mirror that changes to what we want to see, we get fooled, because the moon does hold all the cards...that wicked moon that plays games..but then the sun can blind us also...
there is something about looking inside...that i see in this poem...like mirror...it is what is inside that matters, not what the moon or sun or a mirror reflect.

we are hopefully deeper than that.

i like both these writes much, Dale...you really have wisdom my friend...and it shows in your poetry.
