Split Mistake

 

Being split in two

keeps me from getting

caught in between.

Though the price I pay

is never feeling whole hearted.

Lessons are learned

with every stitch sewn.

The price of scar tissue

is it leaves me vulnerable

to bleeding from the past,

but the trail it would leave

would confirm my path forward

then fill someone else with life.

Love can do that. I believe that it is those heart breaks that leave us vulnerable, that can also make us feel more in the long run. It is easier to appreciate and accept new love when you know what the pain of losing it can feel like. Of course that is easier said than done.
