Riding The Wings Of Perspective

Riding The Wings Of Perspective

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Just because you’re up high

doesn’t mean you’ve taken the right flight

for angels and gargoyles both have wings

and the spirit is blind to the physical form.

Never judge the eye of the storm

cause even the bluest of eyes

has a dark hole in the center.

The mind already builds its own fences,

don’t let another’s nail it shut

before getting a chance

to discover uncharted plains.

Every stone unturned

might as well be thrown at glass houses

just to give it purpose.

Ignorance like humans has many layers,

maybe that is why we are often

attracted to it.

Just remind yourself that opposites attract

with the purpose of feeling complete.

Perception is a curious thing – one person’s opinion can be completely polar to another’s; yet they view the same thing. Your insightful write highlights the dangers of misinterpretation and vertical thinking. Makes the reader take another look at life’s little foibles

Thank you, appreciate your thoughts.
I too like the angel/gargoyle line but the one that drew me in was the bluest of eyes has a dark hole in the center- like it could swallow you up. I would actually think about changing plains to planes (like in existence) but that's just me. You're a cowboy so plains fits nicely. I enjoyed this piece.

Thank you so much... good thing it fits me cause it came outta my head, LOL
There are a lot to think about on this piece. And it made me sit and ponder for a while. There is a lot of truth in everything you've mentioned as how every lie is tainted with a speck of truth.

Never judge the eye of the storm
cause even the bluest of eyes
has a dark hole in the center.

I liked this write and I am going to keep this into my faves.

Thank you very much.
i love this...good and bad can all look the same...we are often fooled...

i think we have to just ignore the storm as much as possible, co-exist the best we can...

and set the stones aside if we can.
