Riding The Wings Of Perspective

Riding The Wings Of Perspective

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Just because you’re up high

doesn’t mean you’ve taken the right flight

for angels and gargoyles both have wings

and the spirit is blind to the physical form.

Never judge the eye of the storm

cause even the bluest of eyes

has a dark hole in the center.

The mind already builds its own fences,

don’t let another’s nail it shut

before getting a chance

to discover uncharted plains.

Every stone unturned

might as well be thrown at glass houses

just to give it purpose.

Ignorance like humans has many layers,

maybe that is why we are often

attracted to it.

Just remind yourself that opposites attract

with the purpose of feeling complete.

Hmm...the last two lines really stuck out to me. I do believe you are right. Also, got a kick out of these words, "for angels and gargoyles both have wings".

Thank you so much.
We all have differences and we all have our own binds. We shouldn't judge others for we aren't perfect ourselves. Well said.

This has so many great lines in it, to be specific I'd point out :Never judge the eye of the storm

cause even the bluest of eyes has a dark hole in the center. fabulous line that one and this: Every stone unturned might as well be thrown at glass houses just to give it purpose... profound and prefect, great write, philosophically intriguing.

You have covered so much of our human nature in one short write. You've said here in this poem what some chapters fail to express.. So true on all accounts.. Excellent as always oh wise one..xo

Wise one? That isa scary thought. Thank you Wild one :)
This is amazing on so many levels, you are willing to put out thoughts most haven't even thought of, "even the bluest of eyes
has a dark hole in the center"
absolutely entrancing imagery to involve the reader not only in emotion but in mind,
what a wonderful way of writing. Peace and love ~jennifer

I don't mind at all.
Poetically, the many juxtapositions in this piece are really what make it shine--angels and gargoyles, blue eyes with a black center (never looked at mine that way, but now I will), building fences shut by another's nail...these are all extremely creative images. I think that when it comes down to it, we must all make our own moral choices in life, and follow that little "golden rule"--do unto others as you would have done unto you, with a dash of "don't judge a book by its cover". Well written.

Oh I like this Dale...especially about the blue eyes...since I have blue eyes...it gave me the giggles.
You are becoming quite the philosopher...and I liked the ending too...I knew opposites attracted
but I never knew why...but I guess I do now ha...Rose...:)
