God's Will

 

The sun beats down ruthlessly

without any intention,

except fulfilling it’s destiny.

 

My body’s perspiration

teams with a slight breeze

to bring some cooling relief

reminding me how connected

I am to nature.

 

After a certain point

I look to the shade

to keep me from burning,

giving it a purpose

like everything in this universe has.

 

It would be easy to find refuge

in man’s modern conveniences

but then I would miss out

on the beauty of God’s will.

This reminded me so much of the story of Jonah how Jonah didnt want to complete Gods will and went to the extent of sitting beneath a small plant for shade and then complained when it died even though he should have just thanked God for the shade while the plant was still alive. I really really enjoyed this poem!

You are right though. We must appreciate what we have and realize what great gifts we have been given by our ever Loving God!!! God's will for us is always the best - but, I sure do like the comfort provided by air conditioning.
