Childhood is all about the innocence,

with that come tantrums, being tackless

and ignoring responsilibilty.

Bringing those qualities into adulthood

is a whole different game

good folks don’t want to play.

Coming of age doesn’t mean

we can’t have fun,

just as long as it is not with another’s emotions.

If you don't want to share respect

then don’t expect to get it in return.

If you think disrespecting women

makes you a cool guy

think again foolish boy.

There is a difference between

being young a t heart

and being completely immature,

the latter will get you a timeout

in a playpen built for one.

Very true words Dale.... sometimes you see it so clearly when you read something like this.. hopefully for them they are learning from these experiences and make it better next time... or before it is too late. Glad to see a values poem, such are rare these days.

Coming of age is a lot of things. And there is indeed a fine line between being young at heart and being immature. I for one can confuse one for the other at times:) Straight from the hip it is! :D
