Shooting straight from the hip and walking on the shell casings.

 

Expanding the lungs

won’t help you beat the rap

under the rubble

of capital punishment’s collapse.

You built this empire

with a headstrong

state of mind

but couldn’t prevent

getting lost in the

heart(attack) of the city.

Since the word revival

is not in your vocabulary

you hold the golden sickle

during your acceptance speech

with pride… or complacency?

Letting your ego be the fortuneteller

will get you as far as

your headstone…

But the afterlife of your reign

will be darker than being

six feet under.

...hmmm, deep subject, like "Religion"...one word: "Bilderburg". I follow all of it...the "machine" has been in operation since the 1st world war...the government behind the government...you know who they are...peace out my friend. LOl...guess that was more than one word huh,:)

Do we really have a voice in the election? I don't think so anymore..the electoral vote for California was given before my ballot was cast..before the polls were closed... our government( if it is not totally corrupt)..needs to start working for the good of all not their self serving causes...Thats not even including the messed up State of my birth ! It is all upside down..sorry tried to keep it short..I think we are all on the same page...but our government...I refuse to call them leaders... Leaders lead...ours just fuss amongst each other like silly a*s chickens while the weasel in the house...

There is plenty wrong with the Government, that is for sure. Fixing it would require tearing it down and starting from scratch.

I usually don't like to mix politics with poetry. It's a hard thing to encapsulate in a single poem. Too many moving parts, too many people to blame. That being said, I applaud your ...shooting from the hip

[Coyote Poetry]

I like this poem. I have great concern for my kids. They all moved back home. No real good paying jobs and prices are increasing on everything. I have a good job today. I do my best to smile and hold on for sake of family. Old world is in trouble. Old wise saying i heard somewhere. " Don't fix your neighbor house when your house is falling apart." The poem told the truth. Sometime the truth can scare the hell out of you. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
