Shooting straight from the hip and walking on the shell casings.

 

Expanding the lungs

won’t help you beat the rap

under the rubble

of capital punishment’s collapse.

You built this empire

with a headstrong

state of mind

but couldn’t prevent

getting lost in the

heart(attack) of the city.

Since the word revival

is not in your vocabulary

you hold the golden sickle

during your acceptance speech

with pride… or complacency?

Letting your ego be the fortuneteller

will get you as far as

your headstone…

But the afterlife of your reign

will be darker than being

six feet under.

...hmmm, deep subject, like "Religion"...one word: "Bilderburg". I follow all of it...the "machine" has been in operation since the 1st world war...the government behind the government...you know who they are...peace out my friend. LOl...guess that was more than one word huh,:)

the truth here is profound... thinking of corruption.. how much of the speech is actually conviction.. what causes complacency.. how far a person would go for power.. love that line getting lost in the heart(attack) of the city... it just bleeds with raw feeling.. it's thought-provoking.. and inspires further debate.. excellent piece.
