Abstract Twins

 

Their eye color is the same

but the way they stare

reflects differently in the mirror…

One intense enough

to start a wildfire,

the other so calculating

it could freeze hell over.

When they run their hands

down my body

I get the same erotic sensation,

it is the fingerprints they leave behind

that distinguishes their intentions…

While one leaves a tingling aftershock

the other dirties my senses

enough to make my skin crawl

six feet under.

It is hard to believe

that identical images

could create two distinctly

different interpretations.

When she leans slowly in

my lips tremble with

anticipation and fear

not knowing whether

 the next kiss

will fill my heart up

or bleed it dry.

This is fabulous! The tension is spectacular, and the depiction of the sensing of a spirit of a person despite their appearance is great! That's a very hard thing to put into words. My only critique would be that you lose the thread of the rhythm in the middle a bit - I don't exactly know what you could do to fix that, but I just thought I'd point it out. Great job!

One extreme or the other...what’s wrong with playing safe...LOL! Both are risky options. Excitement is always best...no point in living if you don’t feel alive...right?!

I really enjoyed this write. The dueling personalities and the weird attraction to both of them is powerful. The last four lines have to be my favorite. It was the perfect way to end this. Very, very excellent.
