Exiled Angel

Exiled Angel

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

She sits on a ledge

of a high rise building,

feet caked in dirt

even thou she can fly.

Seeking comfort

in the modern Stone Age

has left her heart

feeling like concrete

leaving her unable

to fulfill her destiny.

Then announcing halos

to be as useless

as the American dollar

in the fight for humanity

has left her exiled

from those who pray

for compassion and tolerance.

For that same reason

I have brought her into my home

with open arms and mind

where she can come clean

and find salvation.

You're welcome.
This is beautiful-the idea of a sweet soul weary from the corruption and disinterest in this world.
Elton john's lines, 'This world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you", come to mind.

I love that reference, thank you for the review.
really beautifully expressed.... I like the idea of being that last sanctuary... to offer a refuge in this hardened world.. she is lost and troubled it seems, unable to follow the path she intended, we all get lost sometimes, caught in the crossfire, between two sides but there isn't two sides, there's just a humanity not coming to terms with itself, and how do we deal with that. by offering compassion and tolerance.... most enlightening.

Why thank you very much.
An interesting mix of salvation/politics and friendship. I can always count on finding something to make me think here. Well thought out. The image of an angel with muddy feet is delightful...as is your invitation of redemption.
I liked this very much Dale because it has soul xx
