Keeping Pace

Keeping Pace

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Every step taken

is a footprint on my heart

for the air I breath

passes through me

to keep my body

three dimensional.

A million visions a day

is too much

for my eyes to handle

so some will be remembered

but all will have a place

within my mind,

which is why there will always be

pieces to the puzzle

called my dreams.

If the things I say

are stepping stones

to my legacy

than the things I here

are the cracked foundation

they are paved upon.

So the wrecking ball of faults

is God’s unasked prayers

keeping  the structure

from getting too tall

and keeping my loved ones safe

from my fall.

For I shall not

live amongst the angels

till my mortality

is finalized.

This is a stunning deeply thoughtout out piece. Our lives and the people we meet the moments we share are all stepping stones in this life. I love the wording and phrasing in this piece. It is unique and stunningly done.

Thank you, much appreciated.
Beautiful piece, Dale. To seek a greater understanding while keeping this life of ours in perspective and with humility guide us forward knowing our time is short and finite and time will come to forever live amongst the angels.

Touching and poignant ... Beautiful!

Thank you so much :)
I love the way you express yourself here Dale.
First the sentence: " Every step taken is a footprint on my heart
for the air I breath" beautiful, as if each day your heart gets naturally older
And if it's walked by every sorrow, you face in life, as footstaps will stap on it...

Second, your ending stays so strong. As a perfect write needs to have a strong ending... Glad to have read! thank you!

Thank you so much.
It is all in God's timing if we allow Him to be in control of our life! You have written about that which we desire to do, what you dream of, but accepting your limitations and leaving it in the hands of our Creator!! Very thought provoking my friend!!

Thank you.
Thoughtful and potent. Sometimes there's too much beauty and we try
and undertand our place in it. At least that's what I take from this sublime,
piece of yours. Well done, Dale.
