Follow Me (Don't)A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)No matter the influences in our lives the path we take is still our choice.
Approaching beneath the silvery
moon is a face even God would not
recognize. The chilling fog is his hand gripping my shoulder. Paralyzed are my senses, not from fear but rather a familiarity. Through his brown eyes I see the hole Alice fell down. when he grins it is like shards
of metal piercing my flesh. My feet become helpless
servants following him east down a path that puts up a stellar
resistance like gravity is heading west. My heavy steps leave no traces in the quicksand. His breath looks like fireflies dancing in the night while mine sounds like a wolf stalking the lunar
community. The farther we go the more the seed of hate grows around my heart, till suddenly I find myself
alone. Surrounded in darkness except a sliver of light through the trees gives me just enough clarity to
see I was lead down this path… by ME!! Knowing that going back to the
beginning would never be the same I choose to not move a muscle until the sunrise comes to show me forgiveness © 2012 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Featured Review
