Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

A natural human fear?

"

If I disappeared today

Would you remember me tomorrow?

Being a grain of sand

Upon this big rock

It is hard not to feel like

Dust in the wind sometimes.

Once carried away by the wind

There lies a clean slate

Made of elephants ivory

While I become a permanent resident

On the land of the lost.

Out of sight, out of mind

Like a ghost that had been exorcised.

From your mind.

A philosopher wrote something of this sort, 'tis in every man to create his own immortality', surely that means we must keep relationships safe else we end up alone in life and forgotten in death. A terrible thought but logical. Your sad but wonderfully put words are well worth remembering, Dale.

Wow, this really touched me - I could feel the emotion in your words, the longing - it is so sad to think someone we used to be so close to now hardly ever thinks about us anymore - wonderful work!

Yes it is sad, But i think it is human nature to feel this way sometimes.
Right to the heart of the matter, like always. I like this.

I really like this one. Sometimes I believe everyone has these thoughts and you put them into phrases that run smooth and easy. Very nice.

Why thank you so much... it is great to see you here again.
I think we all wonder who would remember us once we have moved onto the next plane. Mine would ne heaven. We wonder is we actually had an impact while we were here and yes I would remember you Cowboy.

This is a really great write! It could be about a relationship gone awry or even the existence of mere man. Here one moment gone another and barely remembered.

I really like your takes on my piece... Thank you.
Great thought put to paper..I have to say even a grain of sand has purpose..AND presence that is never forgotten...if you need a example..perhaps you have gone swimming in the ocean or played in the dunes before?
