The Never Ending Tunnel

Palewriter's poem "Then I Think Of You" got me to thinking and well this is the result...

 

You’ll forever live

Within my dreams

But just out of reach.

That’s okay cause

Reality has a way

Of turning fantasies

Into nightmares.

We all need to believe

In something we cannot reach.

For it is human nature

To taint the things we touch.

So that gleam in the distance

Can keep my life lit

When the truth blindfolds my faith.

This is beautiful in a way of its own. We do all need to believe in something we cannot reach and sometimes that can be scary, yet exciting at the same time. And tainting the things we touch is devastating in a way that is explainable. We live in a world that for some in full of heart break and love that is unreachable as you say. Your feelings of emotions are real to so many, including myself. A feeling of loneliness and emptiness. Well expressed and full of truth. Much love my friend.

We all yearn for things we can never seem to aquire and remain just beyond our grasps. For some, it's fame and riches,an exotic car,a mansion on the hill...while others may simply crave something as simple as love and acceptance.
Whatever the driving force, no one can deny that they haven't chased (and, quite possibly are still chasing) that elusive dream. It's what keeps us motivted to finish the race 'til the bitter end and go out with a resounding 'BANG!' And should we actually attain that dream, it's what we do after aquiring it which can make or break us. The thrill of the chase is enticing and invigorating to the human animal and it's condition. But we must always be careful for what we wish for. We just might get it!
Sorry this review was so long-winded, I really read a lot into this one!
