Interesting. But I have to disagree a bit. If a child is still born and never had a life to live, they still remain in the thoughts of it parents. So they still live in a way through thoughts and dreams. But that is only my thoughts. I do agree though that if you have lived then those whom have come in contact with us will carry a bit of us with them always.
Hrm... This is a seriously thought-provoking piece. I've got to disagree as well. While it is true that those who live full, vibrant lives are immortalized in the memories and hearts of those whose lives they touched, we all must go some time. Indeed, we die many deaths before we take our final breaths. What do you think happens when you give up on a dream? That is, in my opinion, a form of death. So it is every time we deny who we are to conform to what people want us to be. That is but another death. To be honest, I believe that death really isn't the worst thing that could happen to a person. I've been in some situations where I was convinced that death was a better option. Death does have the unfortunate downside of being a final solution to an oftentimes temporary solution, though. That said, I think you've accomplished one feat in this: you've gotten people to think and to question. That can never be bad.
I'm still wondering about it and I really need to disagree a bit as, according to me my friend Robert has a point here!!
But I firmly respects your opinion and thereby, I admit that it's a very very intense and deep piece of writing...
Really, so deep!!

glorious and encompassing. It is vast, and frankly, quite vague.
It lives in a multitude of meanings depending on the perception of the reader, by not understanding where you are coming from, I will risk disagreeing, or even agreeing, without full justification.
I don't know why, but this reminded me of my piece "Thoughts of the Unborn". Two simple lines here but they say so much. To exist or to live. That should have been Shakespeare's real question. Liked it.

I was born.
I live.
I'll die.
I know nothing.
Where I came from?
Where will I go?
I'm ignorant of my existance.
I'm uncertain of myself.
No beliefs.
No religion.
No god.
Know Go.. more..
