Those eyes behind the veil

Those eyes behind the veil

A Poem by deadlife
"

when you know you cannot help the other person, but the other one doesn't know it....

"

It were eyes
A pair of dark, deep
Dim
Eyes, looking at me…
My sight passed by them, unknown
But I felt some words,
Drowning in the sea of silence, down-
As I felt a smile
Holding the hands of hope
Both, trying to save their lives…
I looked up and saw
Two big eyes were looking at me
As if they wanted me
To help them
To save the life-
Had I been someone, could help them live.
They were fading, but
Smiling, hoping
And looking at me…

Eyes are the windows to the soul. I like your focus on the eyes here. I also like the way you capture expression through the eyes. One part that stuck out was when the speaker talked about initially passing by and being tugged back. I think this is many people's initial reaction when they witness something. I like the way you captured the longing- the wanting to help. Very well done, here.

moments like those make you think twice. do you want to help them, even though they're not asking? or would it be intruding in something they don't want anyone to do anything about? this moment you described, ive seen in my life.

the title of your piece tells it all. a veil...
well written.

A difficult position to be - wanting to - unable to - and yet another expects you to. The image of eyes is stong and lasts a long time

A good write here.

Thank you
