Just A Mile Up the Road

Just A Mile Up the Road

A Poem by devon

Happiness is only

Just a mile away.

Too bad it’s looking

To be a rotten, rainy day.

So, I take another road.

A dark and winding path.

It’s leading me to sadness,

And I can’t find the way back.

Now I’m deeper in depression’s

Winding twists and turns

Than I ever intended.

I’ll never get out.

But at the end of the trail,

There is a stream of light.

It would seem that

I’ve found the road to hope.

I’m slowly making my way out.

Now I’m back on the right road,

And happiness is less than a mile away.

But there’s a fork in the road...

It's so sad to think that you're feeling this way, Devon. And I trust that you're making the right choices, or at least trying your hardest to.

Happiness always seems sooooo close, but then hopes are dashed. It's so sad. I love this poem! It speaks the truth!

Cool, in its own morbid way.
