Oh, the Things That You DewA Poem by devonWith each kiss from dawn, You come back to life. Beautiful and glistening- like a blushing new wife. So simple you are, sitting on the green of my lawn, Reflecting one of Mother Nature’s own works of art. Plain as the rays of the rising sun, Yet with the splendor of a sparrow’s last song. My mind contemplates your existence all the day long. Your magnificence comes second to none, While gracing the edges of long, narrow grass. Drinking in the rich hues that you hold, As your array of colors draw me near. Why do I hold the mirror that is you so dear? Is it because of the many wonders you withhold? Perhaps it’s just the striking simplicity of you. The only thing to flaw your perfection, As a matter of fact, Is your swift, vanishing act. Fore, you are gone at dawn’s mention. Oh, the things that you dew. © 2012 devonReviews
