Sweet Dreams, DarlingA Poem by devonHis precious face Was one she covered in kisses Before bed. His innocence Was the most beautiful thing She had ever known. His chubby fingers She always held tenderly In her own. His lumbering footsteps Always followed By his mother’s light ones. His tousled hair, So soft and light, She never could quite comb. His child tantrums She loathed Thrown on every car ride home. Her little darling boy She loved With love that does not end. His laughter once filled her home, But now was left Inside her memories, instead. © 2012 devonAuthor's Note
