Keeper of the Deep

I drown in the salty lakes

You fell in love with so long ago.

I sink to the depths of the lively sea

That you once sailed in a dream.

I am trapped under the surface of springs

Your lips drank from years before.

 

I am forever swimming the

Oceans in your eyes.

Nice!! Before I reached the last two lines, I was thinking, "tears, brain 'essence', skin, and then the obvious lips you mention!! I love it. Even the shape of it feels like a metaphorical click on the chin with the last two lines. Wonderful little read... xoxo -Mark

Aw, I think that may rank as one of the highest compliments I've ever received. I think one of the most important things writers sought out to do, besides connecting with the reader and making them feel something, is to be unique in their writing. So, I am so glad you can see a flicker of originality in my works!
