The Stages of the Canvas

The Stages of the Canvas

I started out with nothingness,

A blank canvas with all the paint to gain.

From infant to child I grew,

And so did the amount of things I knew,

And so the color came.

Sometimes I think the canvas is full-

That my knowledge is too vast to tame.

But deep down I realize as I get older,

The colors, oh, they’ll get bolder.

I’ve still got so much paint to gain.
