Without

Without

A Poem by Deanna

If you took a bird's wings
you have me.
If you steal a man's pride
you have me.
If you take a woman's love
you have me.
If you take a child's innocence
you have me.
I walk without legs
I laugh with no smile
If you walk away
there is only me.
Useless.

The impact people have on eachothers lives is a profound one indeed.
Well put.

Very nice. Short, sweet, to the point. I like how you repeated the line "you have me". It gave the poem a nice direction.
