Inside the Empty HoursA Poem by Donald Cole"It is our actions that demonstrate the purest form of what is contained in our hearts......." Don CInside the
Empty Hours Inside the
empty hours I find me
thinking of you Through the
days of my mind Whatever I’m
going through You hold me
in your heart But there is
no room For what it
is you give to me Like a
flower that won’t bloom Still I
think of you It doesn’t
seem to change And then
when we are eye to eye These
thoughts you rearrange And I’m
holding on to nothing here For you let
go so fast Before a
moment becomes a memory I find me in
your past And I’m not
longing any more For you just
won’t catch me Couldn’t
really hold on anyhow When it’s
you running away I see And I can’t
do anything else Except for
with what I’m shown And I find
me in the looking glass Of all the
things I’ve known And God IS
in the middle Now I
realize in the end For He is
showing me everything I need In the
messages I’m sent And I see a
little clearer Through the
world I’m shown And I’m
walking on my own path Into a new
world unknown And in the
empty hours My mind, it
starts to shift And my path
I’ll give to You For my life
is Your gift And I come
to realize It’s just
not about me And I give
up, to give in too For You who set
me free. Don C © 2012 Donald ColeReviews
