Until You’re in My Life AgainA Poem by Donald Cole
Sometimes, I
see the way you smile
I ask myself
once more
For it only
lasts a while
I listen to
the words you say
Then I look
at what you do
And I try to
find me there
Still seeing
I can’t get through
I wonder
what I’m doing wrong
But then it’s
just not me
And God will
show me what it is
That He
wants me to see
And I think
I know where I am
It don’t get
me too far
And I find
myself in my world
It don’t get
me where you are
And I dream
a little dream sometimes
Knowing how
far away
That you
hold me in your world
And it’s
nothing I would say
It’s not too
far to my world
If you’d be
so inclined
It’s your
world I can’t reach
Cause I can’t
keep you in mine
And it’s not
that I wouldn’t try
But I don’t
know what to do
And I’ve
been hurt enough in life
To keep me
away from you
Not that I
wouldn’t love you
Were God to
be in the way
And it’s
only Him that rules my world
If you
really wanted to stay
So I’m
waiting for you to answer
But know,
there is no question there
And it’s not
that I won’t love you
But it’s
something you won’t share
And how I
love to hold you
Every minute
that I can
And you are
only in a dream Until you’re in my life again Don C
