The Stitches of my Broken HeartA Poem by Donald Colethrough pain we gain strength...through healing we get stronger....and we grow into the person we are to be.....The Stitches of my Broken Heart You think
you got the best of me I think I
got the wounds to show You came and
took the world from me But you don’t
even know I gave you
everything when you were here And more you
took in time The scars
are there forever But the
stitches, they are mine My broken
heart took time to heal The pain is
something I’ll always feel The
stitches, you can never steal You’ll never
again have the chance I gave to
you my world one day And you,
well, never came to play Now I’ve
healed enough to stay The song, no
longer yours to dance I held on
for some time now And you won’t
have a clue You’ve left
me on a trail of tears Now they
belong to you And I’ll go
on without you more For you no
longer own a part The game you
played, and never stayed To see the
stitches of my broken heart Now I am
stronger than before And love, I’ll
come to find And you,
just a point of reference I’ve learned
in my mind And we’ll
always have a bond Something
you will never know But the
stitches of my broken heart Allowed me
strength to grow Don C © 2012 Donald ColeFeatured Review
