The path i try to follow

Follow Me

 

When you came into this world

A little child of mine

Nothing else in my days

Would bring me feelings so fine

And I would get a little scared

Cause I’m not sure what to do

And now, holding this bit of love

To do the best to care for you

So I was kneeling down to pray

And I asked God what will be

And He answered “It'll be all right,

All you have to do is follow Me”

 

A couple years had gone on by now

And your daddy is hanging on

The world would take me away some days

But my heart would still belong

Sometimes I've gotten lost you know

Especially when you aren't near

Sometimes it hurts and I’m beside myself

And my feelings aren’t so clear

And I know I'm not going to be perfect

As I learn to rely on my God, you see

And He holds me a little tighter

And say’s” Just keep your eyes on Me”.

 

Time moves on no matter what

And I’m not there every day

But I trust the Lord, you’ll look to Him

And continue on your way

And God put it upon my heart

To ask me what I'll do

And the only answer that I could give

Is that “I’ll follow You”

You’re growing up so big now

Is what I’ve come to see

You, in my walk, means everything

Won’t you come and follow me

And we’ll find our love will lift us

God will walk on before

And our hearts remaining true

His love will give us more

 

Now my days are brighter

And my love I’ve come to know

And you and me do worship He

Who gives us room to grow

And our walk isn’t always easy

But we’ll pray to make it through

And we’ll ask God to Guide our days

He’ll say “I’m there with you”

 

So we will walk on in this life

In this world, you and me

And sharing our love with God above

I’ll be the best dad I can be

Life will have its ups and downs

No matter what we do

But know that I will always be

Walking right next to you

And when you come to reach to me

As you wonder what to do

And all of me, will smile to see

You say ‘I'll follow you’
