Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Donald Cole

I have a little butterfly

Kailei is her name

Born of the womb of love

Into my heart of the same

I’d say she’s a daddy’s girl

For how she’s holding on

And through the fears and through the tears

Not wanting to go on

I cry a little tear

That turns in to a rain

Watering the growth in both our hearts

To help shelter the pain

Daddy’s girl, he loves her so

I step into my shoes

Of holding my precious love

And praying to see my life to choose

Watching her grow of her cocoon

I see her spread her wings

And love does find hers and mine

Becoming daddy’s everything

My little butterfly

With her bright orange red hair

Eyes of grey green and blue

How I wish me there

And the smile of my butterfly

Such beauty in her love for me

Floating on the wings of her love

You’ll find my happiness to be
