Rose Garden

Rose Garden

A Poem by Donald Cole

Rose Garden (A Poem you’ll Never See)

I always did like flowers

And how you were my rose

A love that started as a bud

How through time it grows

Planted in my garden

It seems full of weeds

Still sown none the less

Amongst the many seeds

I tried to help us as I know

And growing through the pain

The water poured down for us to grow

Left us drowning in the rain

I saw my rose growing though

It took some time to be

And a flower in a garden

Is what I came to see

Now I’m just a visitor

To my garden tried to grow

Still I find the beauty of a rose

In a garden I once did know

A flower in the garden

Needs to have the rain

Storms arise, blinding thieves

Can hurt beyond the pain

Every teardrop that I cried

Wouldn’t bring you back to me

Still your heart in mine, sometimes I would find

Your beauty a gift to be

My garden I start anew now

And beauty not growing does fade

But I’ll look and see the flowers that grow

Budding from the love we made

That grows in a garden of their own

Not all yours, now hardly mine

I pray I sowed the seed of heaven

And heaven, we one day will find
