Conversations From The Front Seat: A Guy and Girl Attempt to Get to Know Each OtherA Story by dbraceyourselfJames may have met the girl of his dreams. Note: I have no idea what genre this is.This lady had everything he was looking for. James first noticed her green eyes, and how he could look into them and not see the back of her head. That was refreshing. She also had dark brown, wavy hair. The kind that fell over her shoulders and down her back like a chocolate waterfall. James always liked hair like that. She was a classy kind of lady with a sweet French-esque name: Cecilia. Beautiful. He had seen her around a lot, and when he heard the barista at Starbucks call for the marble mocha macchiato with four pumps of raspberry flavoring and nearly ran into her as she reached for it, he had to talk to her. I mean, she ordered the same drink! And not the drink of a normal human being either. So, after the brief, obligatory introduction, he decided to invite her on a drive around town. There's no better way to get to really know someone than to drive around aimlessly with them for an undefined length of time.
Now, the following conversation occurred not too long into their little journey: Cecilia poses a question to James, "What is a 'taller mecanico'?" "One of above average height, of course..." "No! On the sign back there, smart a*s! It must be Spanish..." "Tire Mechanic." "How do you know?" "Well, mecanico sounds very Spanish. And two L's next to each other make a 'Y' sound, like the word 'tortilla' right?" "Ok..." "So, keeping that in mind, and pronouncing it with your best fake Hispanic accent, it sounds like tire... Vaguely." "That's probably the silliest thing I've ever heard... You're crazy." "Yeah. No argument here..." The couple is briefly silent as Cecilia begins to consider James' ridiculous assertion. "Taah yer... It does sound like tire! Vaguely..." "See?" "You're still crazy." "Yeah. I know." © 2013 dbraceyourselfAuthor's Note
