Morning Feast

Morning Feast

A Poem by Sanober
"

wrote this a month ago. inspired by a beautiful morning in a beautiful park!

"
You are invited
to a Morning Feast with me
we will meet early
at the park, just before sunrise
when the sky is tucking away
its final strand of darkness
we will breathe in
this fresh
blue light
let our skins
enjoy a drink or two
of this rising warmth
can you imagine
all the different kinds
of appetizers?
there’ll be songs
of the mourning doves
& the laughing doves
the Tree swallows, sunbirds
we can feast our eyes on
croissant-shaped clouds
& pomegranate blossoms
time will move slowly
almost at the pace
of our walk
and if we stop, it’ll stop too
for mains,
we’ll have beautiful conversations
occasionally interrupted
by the flight of a Grey Heron
& a lush breeze from the lake
and for desserts, you ask?
we'll have all this richness...
this grandness of life
dripping down our chins
and maybe i'll tell you
that this was too much sweetness
for one morning
and it almost makes me sad
so we'll come back again
tomorrow
and what a pity it is
for all those who
won't be here
imagine never knowing
an ache
like this.

Patricia Wedel read requested me & I'm so glad she did! This is an amazingly lighthearted & contagious poem! It makes me want to write something in a similar vein, showing my love of mornings & nature & just being alive. I love how you create an invitation to the reader, as if to say that this is all out there to share, & as a writer, you have shared such vivid interesting details, the whole scene comes alive. This really inspires me to write with more enthusiasm like you do here! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Brilliant lines:
"when the sky is tucking away
its final strand of darkness"
and
"this was too much sweetness
for one morning
and it almost makes me sad"

Beautiful! I love the way you bring the morning light and air and sounds to life, and then transform it into a sense of flavor.

dear Sanober... "to never know an ache like this" is the
perfect way to describe the feeling of destiny...
when magnetism draws a beautiful picture of
pure pleasure. Lovely to read your inspired
poetry. truly, Pat

Ah, to feel the sun seeping into your skin and watch the blue sky wake up while sitting next to someone you care for. The concept of the richness of life dripping down the chin....ah, this is just brilliant! So sensual...perhaps he will lick off the sweetness? Those who can not drink in Mother Nature's loveliness are indeed a sad lot. This poem has it all, Sanober. It is romantic, it employs great metaphor, delicious imagery, and is honest. The emotions are free and filled with exuberance. Just a wonderful write! Lydi**
