An Ache

An Ache

A Poem by Sanober

There is an ache,
sometimes,
sweet as lychee-blossoms,
too tender,
to be molded in words
too raw, sometimes,

too beautiful,

of a heart swollen with love,
of old passions awakening,

of fears ..unfathomable,

of snowy lights,
and stinging winds,
of distant ships, and nights...
glimmering with moon-waters,

of friendships drawn...
and dispersed...

of gazes smouldering,
sunsets changing

of time...slipping too fast,

of Decembers dissolving-
always dissolving...
before my ever-dreaming,
ever-wistful eyes.

I do love this one Sanober, that first verse is just lovely, and then it's bittersweet from there, I can't pick a favorite really, I loved it from first word to last, a favorite of yours for sure. Nicely pen'd.

I loved reading your poem, Sanober. You have shared your dearest memories and most heart-felt emotions and I felt very honored to read your words. Beautifully written poetry.

Time seems to dissolve into nothingness at times. It is here, we think we have all the time in the world, and then...poof....it is gone and another year floats off into the sunset with the stars and moon. Yes, there is an ache..a longing for what might have been and what once was and we yearn for it even thought we know the opportunity to have “it” is gone forever. For a heart “swollen with love” time moves far too quickly. We want to freeze the moment so we can climb inside it forever, but that is not possible. Sunsets will change, but sometimes, my sweet friend, the change is a good thing and the new version of that sunset is even more breathtaking.....just as your poetry continues to be. The melancholy poignant feel of this poem drew me in...and has captured my heart. Lydi**
