A Soft Rain

A Soft Rain

A Poem by Sanober

  In a rain so soft....

and ethereal and mist-petaled

..as this

 you could blanket

a baby in it, bathe...

  an injured bird,

and grasp a peach,

without ever bruising it,

you could sing a song

with it, making the handsomest

man fall in love,

or kiss someone's forehead

without ever disturbing

their sleep

you could make..

a new best friend with it,

cozy up a home, and fix

 two gloomy bulbs

of eyes with it,

revive ...

a dead flower, end wars,

bridge distances, and rebuild

 cities and empires with it

you could heal...an old wound,

permanently touch a soul,

and coax...a long-forgotten,

a long treaded-over dream

back to life with it

a rain like melting pillows

a rain so beautiful... i could never

have let go of

if not certain

that one day...it will find its way

into my poem.

Great poem.
As a lovely flow from beginning to end.
I personally love the rain but like they say
"It can't rain all the time"
My favorite line is:
"you could sing a song with it, making the handsomest man fall in love, or kiss someone's forehead without ever disturbing their sleep..."

Thanks for sharing and keep on writing.

I found peace in your poem, Sanober. The peace of a kind, loving heart that rains its gifts down on the world around it. Very lovely poetry.

"a rain like melting pillows" oh, what a glorious line this is, Sanober! I am so glad this soft silky rain found its way into your poem. The imagery is stunning....kissing a loved one on the forehead while he or she sleeps, helping flowers that would otherwise be wilting, ending wars....oh if only such a rain existed! There is a dreamy magical quality to your words. Wonderful work, my friend.
